There is a local festival that has occurred annually for over 150 years called 'Tater Day'. Back in the early to mid 1800s, potatoes from the north would be traded for potatoes from the south, and this trading occurred in a local county.

Originally a potato themed celebration, now a celebration of Southern Pride and racism, there are still hints of its potato past including the sale of these cheap plastic potato pellet guns.

Potato pellet guns are loaded simply; just press the nozzle into the potato, and pull it back out. Squeeze the trigger, and the air pressure shoots out the tiny potato pellet within it. These are fun and safe ways to have gun wars (they only have a range of about 30-40 feet), and just generally fun.

...There were some of my aunts and cousins with us in the back of the truck, though they aren't pictured, She looked so mad, but it was hard to take her seriously, since she had a piece of potato in her hair. :U
