It is nice to see Grey makin' rational thoughts again so soon after a flashback like that, guess we'll see how long this lasts.
Also he found that knife pretty fast, guess it being basically his only possession means somethin'. That or it smells so much like blood n'such that it's easy to locate.

yeah mostly it was the trace blood. also kyo had been touching it, and left, and has a pretty...distinct smell at this point from showering in recycled water for a couple days.
i didn't feel like it was absolutely postiviely integral to the scene to clarify that cause it's so close to the end of the arc, plus it's information that we kinda already know (that grey can track things by smell and feel) so i ditched it in favour of just keeping the mood steady for the wind-down
