As a former jester and still-some-time bard,
I really must say, managing ones appearance is hard!
If the makeup is off just the tiniest fraction.
The audience will lose interest in even the most amusing action.
Facepaint on just so, no hint of blemish nor blush.
That rowdy hair simply must go, it's just such a fuss!
Purple mascara, this is the good stuff! You think i'm a fool?
Well maybe, it's my profession, and I've got just the right tool.
My cap is all jangly, my tights show just enough dangly bits,
paws off, pal, don't get all wrangly, till we see whether it fits.
The life of a clown isn't all jests, jokes and mirth.
You've got to put effort into appearance,
else the rest of the show hasn't much worth.
