C.F. Martin & Co D-15 Brazilian Mahogany Dreadnought 1 of 2
So I just wanted to throw these photos up here, I think this thing is beautiful and despite it's plain and subtle appearance, the sound is probably unlike any guitar (Martin or otherwise) I've ever heard. The soundboard, back, AND sides are made of solid Brazilian Maghogany, and there is no external plastic/abalone binding, they did it mostly seamlessly. It's built like a Martin and it plays like one too.
My particular guitar is an older (2000s) version of this one, the D15M http://www.zzounds.com/item--MRTD15M and the only differences are cosmetic, though some D15s were made with Sapele (african mahogany) and were less coveted. I'm lucky enough to have gotten one in the rarer Brazilian tonewood.
My only plans for it in the distant future are to put a set of higher quality machine heads on it, possibly replace the worn down stick-on soundhole rosette with an actual abalone inlay, and to replace the bridge and end pins with ones made of ebony or bone.
