The high city of the equine lords, Tanhold, has fallen along with their kingship. The equines have been killed or enslaved through much of the land, and without the central authority of the horse lords, anarchy rules. Death, famine, war stalk the kingdom.
Lord Gabriel, last knight of the order of the Knights of Tanhold, returns with his warhorse each year to his ruined city, to continue the rituals of his order amongst the wreckage of his former life, and bathe in the sared pools on midsummers eve. Now earning his living by the sword, he remains inside still a knight, though it becomes harder with each passing year.
This year, a new change will grip the land, and Gabriel will find himself fighting again, for honour, for duty, and for the last remnants of all he holds dear.
This is a commission piece to accompany a new story series I am working on called "Fallen", the story of the lost Knight who finds things worth fighting for in a runied land.
