Spent about 3 weekends just on the digital parts. Only Grimlock himself was initially done in pencil, then I scanned the drawing and "inked" it in Photoshop, because I wanted the lines to be clean and straight (any parts that weren't geometric, like the arms, were done with a pen and some trial and error). Background was done entirely in Photoshop, and the whole thing is heavily based on a scene from Lost World Jurassic Park--if you've seen it, I'm sure you know what scene.
I attempted to make him look more T.Rex-like--his original design looks more like a cross between an Allosaurus and Godzilla. I TRIED to keep his transformation in mind and not go too far with it, but in some areas I kinda gave up on that and pulled the artistic licence card =P
Had a brain fart and only AFTER it was completed did I realize that the resolution was 150 dpi, so I DEARLY hope it looks good printed out so I can sell prints at conventions.

Oh I see, and no problem really, background are always a dilemma.
And don't worry about it, I tend to feel bad whenever a big name artists posts something, which not only looks much greater than anything I ever made, it was also created within 1 day. But guess this just leaves me a lot of space for improvement, which I can't deny is a great thing motivating me to keep coming back to art.... even if a lot of it is just my lame webcomic which is drawn very poorly for faster releases of new pages...
