Just wrapped up a digital painting for the first scene of my animated short, "The Last Flower".
I decided to do my animation at 1080p HD resolution... so this piece is big! (Too big for FA, 1920x 2160) It has a closeup of the character's feet walking past the camera, the title is revealed under his foot, and then as it pans up with the title to show the setting.
Pretty much made up in my head, no reliance on references except for some color ideas.
