A few days early, but do you really mind?
Here's a preview of the new pads I've been working on. I used to make pads from urethane rubber (see here: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/3396083/), since it seemed safer than risking potentially fatal latex reactions in random members of the public. But it was rather hard and tended to crack after extended flexing. So I took the leap into platinum silicones.
I've been practicing with the mini vacuum-tables I've previously shown, as well as with fibreglass molds. The detail reproduction I've been getting in amazing. When I get it right anyway. ;)
The cracked leather texture is considerably finer-grain than the previous versions too.
I need to do another pass at the fibreglass molds as a couple have creases in the gelcoat or flaws from the masters I hadn't noticed. Should be done within a few days I hope!
These ones are supposed to be pink. It's far too pale currently though. I need to tweak the mix a little more to make it match the urethane pigment shade.
What you see here is the "Animal feline palm set", with the large-size fingerpad set behind it.
This pic really shows off the texture detail well. :)
The silicone is a special-effects-grade skinsafe platinum-cure. It's skin-safe enough it can actually be applied wet to bare skin. It has a backing of fleece impregnated into it as it cures, giving you the option of sewing or glueing pads in place.

Yeah, the old urethane rubber was fine being cast into plain tin-cure silicone molds. Not surprised there's not a lot of info on them, have been told the urethane rubber is usually used for making molds for harsh stuff like cement or for casting replacement bushings for engineering.
