I'm so glad to be able to finally do this! Yes - lizzimba did just submit a prawn into the FBA Draft! I have had this idea for ages and now its reality! Hurrah! I hope you all like the latest sea bound to try make the step up to the FBA!
Alejandro Salazar is the most controversial and unique member of the increasingly reputable Madrid based 'Pajaro Fuego' Academy - a team that has produced an astonishing amount of young talent that has managed to be competitive in Europe's most prominent basketball nation - Spain. The academy has captured headlines in the last few weeks with the news that as many as four of their young players could be included in the FBA draft, and unprecedented amount for a European country.
Salazar is a quite literally a freak of nature, born in the seas of Vigo, this prawn grew to be the largest prawn to have ever come out of North Western Spain. Looking for a purpose in life, he decided to try and find a pursuit that only he could do as a crustacean, and took it as a personal challenge to himself to take on basketball from his teens. Whilst growing up, the idea of a sea based creature ever playing professional basketball was mad, insane even - but luckily thanks not only to the incredible vision of the Pajaro Fuego Academy, but also to the pioneers for sea based folk such as Bobby Rae Brine have made it possible for Salazar to be considered.
Salazar is seen as very much the fulcrum to a solid team in Madrid, nothing he does is spectacular, but much of it is effective. He is a centre through and through, with sheer size and height obvious reasons for his consideration. However less obvious credentials include simple intimidation, a excellent pass percentage rate and the ability to deliver a strong performance consistently. Seen as a player few want to play on the court, the prawn largely keeps himself to himself off it, in some ways unable to associate or level with his team-mates, he has managed to integrate himself at least on the court.
This prawn doesn't turn the game upside down with his game, he is an effective peg in a round hole, but his sheer presence is sure to makes waves across many oceans.
He is consistently delivering in a league with much competition, and is also an unselfish player who brings out the best in others. Despite appearances of intimidation, is unlikely to be the star - but that does not mean he goes unappreciated. In fact in Spain, they celebrate the cog working the machine more than most - and Salazar is that in pure form. Plus, Salazar just in sheer physicality is one of a kind, and people will not be looking forward to facing something most will find extremely alien on the court.
