I decided recently that I would try and snap a picture anytime I see an old retired fire truck that is no longer owned or used by a fire dept. any more.
So here is my first picture, the truck was originally a ladder truck owned by the town of Sanford Maine. The truck was purchased a auction by a local paving contractor who removed the fire body and aerial device, they then shortened up the chassis by 12 feet and installed a 5th wheel and Goose neck hitches on top of the frame and a large pintel hook and Reese Receiver to the back of the truck .
The owner of the company loves this set up and the KME cab has more than enough room for his crew minus the guy driving the dump trucks.
