her mother was from a family that carried a genetic disease that wreaks havoc on the body that it flourishes in. one that manifests in varying degrees, but anything more than a mild case was usualy a death sentance, even more often killing them before birth. this disease skips 1-2 generations and the mother was a 2nd skip. but, upon becoming pregnant, she started to show signs of this debilitating disease. as she grew larger with child she got slowly worse, weakening, dying. and finnaly when her body was as frail as it could be, she went into labor.
she labored with the baby for hours, while at the same time fighting for her life, her husband at bedside desperately clinging to his wifes hand. fearful for both his wife and his babies life. till finnaly, a head. a dark haired little baby began to make its way out, the head halfway out sadly was as far as the battling mother could push. before she even delivered her baby daughter, she died right in mid birth. the father clinging to his wife begs her to keep fighting, not to give up. that he knows she can do it, but she is already long gone. having long since prolonged her death this far. the nurses are forced to remove the rest of the baby by hand, her skin pale as a corpse.
overcome with greif, he holds his dead baby and holds his wifes limp hand and is overcome with greif and sorrow.
but suddenly she stirrs. movement? the nurses snatch her away from him and rush her away and she is put up in life support.
his daughter, wish such a powerfuly manifested version of the disease. she fought for her life every day for years. she remained in that hospital till she was a teenager, every day. her father feared that would be the day she would finnaly run out of strength.
she didnt see him very often, because the immense work he had to take to pay her medical bills. he was a soldier of a special units forces for the king, but he had to take various other work on the side, often sleeping on a cot next to his daughter just to get a few hours with her. she never saw her families home till she was a young adult.
