finally, the illustrations for chapter 3 of my fantasy story "Icestorm" (which you can find here on FA). Not perfect... but I've spent all month working on it in tiny bits each day, I'm done with it.
Veronica Plague, high up in the cave, deals with the baby polar dragons who have ripped her arm out...
while Thomas Icestorm deals with the mother polar dragon on the cave floor.

I have to admit, I'm not entirely found of gore like scenes, but you've taken a subject that would normally be one and still happened to make it fit here, and that I can respect. I mean normally when someone has the bone of their arm ripped out, it'd be a bloody and horrific scene. Here, it just looks like a "wrong choice" in a video game due to how it's glowing the way it is as it's eaten by a bunch of polar dragons.
Polar dragons. Now that's an interesting concept too.
Moving from that, I will admit that the polar dragon cubs happen to look rather well colored there. But you did give them the cute but dangerous idea with the skulls underneath them. And if that dfoesn't do it, then Veronica in the background probably would. I mean she only lost an arm to the little monsters.
Speaking on the background, I will say that you colored the HELL out of the background ice/crystaline pillars there. I mean those happen to just make this picture and gives it that traditional "crystal cave" feel as seen in the majority of RPGs. [I think it's obligatory now, but I digress.]
I mean just.. dear.. GOD that's beautiful to me.
Again, I know it's an old picture for me to be commenting on, but that doesn't make it any less good here~

no, this isnt old, its from this year :)
yeah, it literally took me most of a month to color, mostly because of that background. layers and layers of colors done a little bit at a time.
its not gory because well, she doesn't have any blood or muscle. just bone, fur, and the magical purple goo that holds it all together.
as for where polar dragons came form, it was my 11 year old mind trying to come up with new monsters. lets combine polar bears and dragons. ok!
