The birth of Winry brought about a number of big changes in Yosh's life. The first of which was that he was no longer the center of attention. He had to get that back!

Fortunately, around the time of Winry's hatching, Yosh had just about completed his potty training thanks to the help of his friend, Zee-Zee. Zee-Zee took it upon himself to train both Yosh and Toroth at the same time and was delighted when he finally found a clever way to get both out of diapers.

Sadly, for Yosh, this was short lived.

Winry was about six months old and she was on the move. This meant she could chase after, catch, and tackle her brother to her heart's content while Yosh could do nothing about it. After all, as Mr. and Mrs. O'Ducky put it, "You're her big brother and she's counting on you to help her learn to be a good girl."

This gave Yosh an idea.

"Maybe?" he thought as he watched all the love and care his mother gave while changing her diaper. "If I were a baby girl, my mommy and daddy would love me just as much as Winry!"

And so it was. Yosh began to sneak into Winry's room and swipe her diapers, bonnets, and clothes. He would put them all on and run in front of his parents who, needless to say, couldn't help but notice their son was dressing like a girl.

Mr. O'Ducky wanted to nip this issue in the bud straight away. However, Mrs. O'Ducky insisted it was "Just a phase" and that "He'll outgrow it."

This is when Yosh began to use his, well, his sister's, diapers.

"Forget potty training!" he thought proudly. "My momma will always be there for me so long as I need diapers and I don't want out of them ever again!"

This, of course, caused quite a stir at his daycare / preschool, Quack Quack's Learning Farm

Toroth, worried for his friend, tried to tell him how they got potty trained together and that Yosh needed to go back to using the potty like a big boy. This was seconded by Apollo Conure who, like Yosh, had a younger sister. He shared with Yosh on how being a big boy using diapers and wearing dresses just to get attention was not good, older brother behavior. Deep down this all made sense to Yosh, but the attention he was getting was just too good. Even Nishi was being extra nice to him and playing tea parties and house together with his dino buddy was such fun.

"But I am her big brother," thought Yosh one day after preschool. He then removed his bonnet and said sadly, "I need to be a big brother and not a little sister. But..." he trailed of with tears before sobbing, "What if I lose all the special mommy and daddy time?"

For the next couple of days, Yosh's friends respectively worked to assure the little dino-duck he was loved for who he was and not for what he was pretending to be. Apollo was even kind enough to have Yosh over for a play date where he explained how important it was to be a good, big brother and model good behavior. Paisley, Apollo's younger sister, then came up and pecked him. However, rather than attack her, he just faced her and said, "No, Paisley! It's not nice to peck!"

Yosh watched as Paisley began to cry. However, Apollo took her hand and said, "I know you didn't mean to hurt me, Paisley. However, you just can't peck someone. It's not nice."

It was at this point Yosh realized he needed to be a big brother instead of a little sister. That Winry was counting on him to be a role model just like Paisley counted on Apollo to be one for her.

The next day, Yosh insisted on wearing his vest, star shirt, shorts, and most importantly, his Pony Magic underoos. He was going to be a boy again.

Mr. and Mrs. O'Ducky were very proud of their son. Despite never realizing why Yosh dressed as a girl, they were glad to see the "Phase" had ended. There was some muttering about a bet made that Mr. O'Ducky lost to his wife, but all was once again well.

Well, sort of.

Yosh found he had gotten used to using diapers again that he barely made it out of the door before wetting himself and needing all his clothes changed. Fortunately, with help from his friends, Yosh got back out of Little Quackers Potty Starters and was the lovable, little dino-ducky he was meant to be. Moreover, he had a new appreciation for his role as a big brother.

Though, a seed had been planted and Nishi, being the aspiring photographer he was, certainly new what buttons to press to never let Yosh forget that he was "His little girl".
