Just a short story based on the end of the episode "Simon & Marcy". It's written from Simon's POV, and explores his motivations and feelings. I took inspiration partially from The Simpsons episode "And Maggie makes three" where Homer is forced to accept his job back, but under harsh penalties, including a de-motivational plaque which reads "Don't forget, you're here forever!". Homer cover this up with pictures of Maggie until it reads "Do it for her!". And I think this is Simons' motivation at the time -whatever it takes, do it for Marceline's well-being.
