Vanmoriel

The eldest daughter of the House of Nightwolf is as beautiful and mysterious as her future husband described her upon their first meeting. A creature of the night’s hidden secrets, she is named Vanmoriel, “dark beauty”, and it is she who can most often be found silently passing through the woods after darkness has settled, with only the light of stars and the moon to light her way. She is friend to the forest spirits, often found accompanied by owls, moths, bats, and even the little faeries that flit among the shadows like tiny embers glowing with rainbow hues.
As Luthien’s mother, it is clear that she passed many of her traits down to her daughter, and much of her magical abilities as well. Both have talents in spellwork, especially healing and growth spells. Vanmoriel is often silent in the company of other elves, and believed to have faerie blood in her lineage, hence her ability to commune with them, oftentimes with more ease than she does with her own kind. She wears garments of silk and velvet reminiscent of the night’s colors, ranging from the deep black of the darkest shadows to brilliant glittering white of the moon, and all shades of blue in between, accented with strands of silver mithril, pearls and sapphire gems. She often weaves flowers into her long hair, or even feathers gifted to her by the owls she has befriended.

Vanmoriel currently resides in Valinor with her husband, amongst the other members of the House of Nightwolf in the great elven city of Avalonne.

A long overdue portrait of Luthien's mother Vanmoriel - really trying to get some story work/fan-fiction off the ground, so I'm starting with background characters, settings etc. and then I'll be working my way around to Luthien's childhood and go from there. I don't get much time to do stuff for myself though so it may take a while but...this is a start. Planning on giving the artwork to my mom as a mother's day gift. >u>

And yes, there will (hopefully) be a portrait of her father to go with this one, soon.
