When people ask Taiko why he may seem a little spaced out/distracted/in an utter daze when spring comes around, the drake really has no way of explaining just what it is that pulls his mind away. One glance into his head, however, would offer this spectacular vision, amongst so many other things running through his mind...really, is it a wonder that the dragon doesn't drive?
When I came across Sev's picture Spring Scents (linked on the page of his submission Spring Melons), I really was blown away by what Sev drawn, with the flow of the colors, the blossoms, and the way that the lines blended with one another without actually touching. I probably didn't post that as much as I should have (for the image really is awesome), but what I did post was enough that he was willing to draw a version of the image with a dragon in it. One note later, and...well, he drew this lovely creature.
I had honestly expected him to use a more generic dragon figure in the picture, but this came out, and really...I don't know what to say. It's awesome~ He's captured much of Taiko without copying and pasting his image, or making everything just one huge watermelon. Sev...simply put, got Taiko, and he brought in colors that bring a sense of balance to this. A sense of flow, of freshness, and...well, really, it's a creative, arty picture, and I'm extremely thankful for him to draw it for me.
Be sure to check out Sev's original image, Spring Scents, and to check out the rest of his gallery too. Please, be mindful of whether or not he's actually taking requests, and don't use the gift as a way to shout out ''But he got one!''. There is a reason that there is a phrase ''This is why we can't have nice things.'', and why so many different fandoms have suffered for it. If it seems that I'm being a little defensive here, stating this, it comes from personal experience and the desire to avoid history repeating itself.
