Vess' primary, a custom 12mm (a little smaller than .50cal) handgun that fires in a special two-round burst system. This allows both bullets to hit in almost the same exact place, nearly atop one another.
The first round fired from the special stacked magazine is a SLAP (saboted light armor penetrator) round, and the follow-up is a high explosive. Usually a powerful enough "one-two" punch to defeat monstrosities or even armor.

.50 is 12.7mm, but how long is the case? Wouldn't the two round burst be far more accurate with caseless ammunition? (the ejection phase would be eliminated from the operation, upping cyclic rate and placing the rounds closer together) The weapon would also be more reliable and rugged, due to fewer moving parts.
