From Thurston book 3, this is etude number 7: after Mendelssohn's "Scherzo" from "A Midsummer Night's Dream"
This piece has always been a challenge for me on auditions. The etude is much harder, so I'm glad it was marked slower, haha!

About the etude project:
I've been challenging myself to practice a different etude every day and prepare it to the best of my ability in one day. This has been very helpful, but I wanted to add an additional element of pressure/nervousness. So I started recording them to post here.
It's not a real performance- I usually AM playing with a metronome, and I usually record these in a couple of takes and put them together later. I'll try to do them in a single take when possible, but usually I'll break them up.

Naturally I like the Hebrides- though I didn't actually get to play it until a couple of years ago.
And no, by the time I got to know the Scotch Symphony, I liked Mendellssohn even less because the Midsummer Night's Dream scherzo had already become my worst enemy in auditions. XD
