Not only that; When you get your cat declawed they don't just take off the nail part.. The vet amputates the entire first joint/tip of the finger. The whole darn bone, leaving the cat with only the one joint per finger.

It's pretty brutal, and should be considered animal abuse imo.

exactly. Some people do it cause they say the cat 'attacked' a child. So far in most cases it's because the child did something that angered the cat! cats won't bother anyone if they are just left alone...if antagonized they can and WILL go all out. But it doesn't really occur now a days that maybe the child is at fault so instead they do what they think is the simple method and 'declaw' the poor dears.

I know not all cats are good but still the ones that are don't deserve this and it's becoming more of a 'regular' or 'necessary' thing to declaw a cat and people don't really understand cause they never really 'stepped into the shoes' so to speak of the cat itself and what it might go through without those claws.

i never would declaw my cats nails, i only clip em every once in a while with a nifty pet nail/grooming kit :3 completely harmless and safe for animals

Yeah I didn't declaw either of my cats knowing it takes the tips odd their paws, not to mention if for some reason they get outside they can't fight to protect themselves or climb trees to escape danger.

I Got A Declaw cats. I did not do it to them. The PetMark did to them and the All white cat is super sweet. But for the 12 week she was freaking out and biting the Cords and ruin a lot of them. But she stop doing that and she clam down.
