Kind of late on the bandwagon but whatever.
So last week I saw the reveal of Mewthree/Mewcubed/Mewtriple/Plasmew/whatever it's supposed to be called, andpeer pressure seeing a bunch of people doing things with it got me really interested in its design, so naturally I had to do a story. Also I'd wanted to do something with a Sylveon character for a long long time and this seemed like the perfect opportunity to hit two birds with one stone. Much like Caught in the Headlights, this is rather rough, being a spur of the moment thing that was mostly rushed out all in the course of a single day, and that's not getting into the asinine science I'm trying to pass off as realistic procedures. I was writing mostly under the assumption that Mewthree would be like the next level of Mew progression with even more powerful abilities, hence upgrading from just telepathy to near reality-bending powers more along the lines of Akira. Which actually might explain the flesh manipulation powers too.
I did most of this in my stream on Sunday, but as usual underestimation of how long it would be happened and I had to do the remaining two thousands words or so on my own - if nothing else the stream was still very lucrative and I managed to write three 3600+ words in one day, and it didn't take me a month to finish the whole thing. Sadly I missed the chance to make this posted exactly one month after the last thing I submitted.
For the first time in a while, a story that isn't rated mature!

I tend to usually leave the snippets with somewhat open endings because of their short, single-scene nature (or at least that's what they were originally supposed to be), leaving the potential for more things to happen, but I don't always have ideas for such things. While this story may have more things that could potentially be done with it, I didn't really plan on doing anything else, it was just a spur-of-the-moment thing I did because I wanted to write a story about the new Mewtwo. :P Throwing in Sylveon was just a bonus.
Why Fennekin exactly? There isn't exactly any special significance it has to this story, and personally I would more prefer to wait until the final evolutions of the starters are revealed and potentially do something with one of those, the base forms are looking promising to me but they themselves don't interest me too much at the moment.

And my point also stands: this was written when Mega Mewtwo Y was the only Mega Evolution we had seen, before we had known what the concept was or how it worked, when people theorized that it was just a new forme in the same vein as Giratina or even an official version of the fabled "Mewthree", which is why it is never referred to as such in the story and why there are no mega stones involved. The character's backstory may stand to have some revisions as a result of this but I'm not going to go out of my way to completely rewrite this story to account for that.
