While I don't know the specific cause, the image certain conveys that feeling of being trapped, vulnerable, unable to escape. I can't offer a solution to any of those, not knowing the specifics. You certainly have my sympathies.
Rely on those whom you can trust to help you out of dark corners, to clothe and protect you. No woman should suffer quietly, and alone.

This is just my thoughts from the picture and what I know about the artist, I am deeply sorry of the interpretation is wrong or offensive to Fio.
Being a parent, you're forced to become an adult in order to do right by your kid... you can't be childish, you can't have fits, you can't even really cry around them... you want them to be happy with everything you are. Fio is, as far as I know, raising that child alone.
There is no one that can really take over long enough for her to be able to work out her negative feelings... she can't have a good cry because the kid will hear, she can't go off and find a place to cry because she has to get someone to babysit, which woould cost money, which is tight when you're the only income.
This picture along with what I gathered from the comments on the pictures with the pregnancy I'd definitely say she's trapped in single parenthood.
Again sorry if I'm wrong.
Fio, I know you are hanging tough as it is... but remember you're not the only one who has felt like this... there might be support groups in your area that will give you a hand, mothers that have been through it themselves... I really wish you the best of luck.

Well thank you very much for offering sympathy and trying to understand where I'm at, but you haven't quite picked the scenario from which these feelings are drawn. I am not a single parent (and very grateful for that, because I'd be hopeless without my partner to help me in the down times). I greatly admire single mothers and of course I can see how some women in that situation might experience the trapped feeling you described.
Yes this picture is a depiction of feelings, but nothing quite so specific as what you imagined. It's true that I feel trapped at the moment, but not by my baby. My immediate family is my best comfort and joy at the moment, and the pain and awkwardness I'm experiencing are only transitory.
The problem with we artists is that we just draw what comes to us - even on the shitty days, and our pictures can alarm caring people like yourself. I'm so sorry for worrying you and everybody else! =(

I'm sorry for misunderstanding xD
I only went with what very little I knew about you. Please keep posting whatever you wish, even the sad pieces. Its a good indication by the response you're getting how well your picture conveyed the emotion. Its also really good to hear you have someone to help you through it.
To the question about me being a parent, I'm not... but my family has a single mother in it. I babysit when I can but I know its tough on her.

aww T~T well it definitely expresses that feeling well, and is also very well drawn! ^w^/ *hugs* >W< hope you're not feelin' too much like that! 0o0 if ya are you just need to grab your friends and party away ze blues! >W< myahaha *holds up some punch* err, don't worry its not spiked ;;>w> lol! *breaks out the party panty hats*
Thanks everybody for worrying, but please don't. I was just using my love of arting to try and exorcise some negative feelings. Sketching out my sadness is usually very cathartic and I highly recommend it to those of you with an inclination to feel down and bottle things up.
I'm sorry to cause concern. I'm just another person who hurts sometimes, but rest assured that my pictures will laugh and tease and joke again. How could I manage if they didn't?
Much love to you all.
Fio.

Ms Fio, you of all people have no reason to apologize.
I would urge you to draw whatever you feel in any way that you feel; the rest of us will deal with it. If we care about you, then at the same time, we owe you the respect deserved by someone who touches other people's lives with her drawings.
Your pictures take precedence over any response to them; and I think that everyone here would agree that your liberty to draw whatever you *need* to draw is a freedom that we would never want you to lose... because, in losing it, you would lose the very qualities of personal expression and personal touch that we love in your work. In sickness or in health, in happiness or in sorrow, you delight us with your pictures; that is what really matters.
