Second tail using the formulas I have in excel. If you recall from my last tail, "The goal was to make a tail that was 24" long, had a nice taper, and used exactly one skein of the primary color."
This tail is 24" long, has a nice taper, and almost exactly uses one skein of primary color.
I would like to make the taper a little more taper-y. And I ran out of yarn, one braid-lump before the top. So in the next round, I'm going to bring back the dreaded 7" section. This will give me a little more length, and increase the taper by decreasing the width at the top.
I didn't even try to get a good photo of this one. I'ts been drizzly and overcast for days. Bleh.
Notes:
24" long, 8" at the widest point.
40 tufts of white, all on the 11" form
147 tufts of red; 62@11, 45@10, 40@9
72 strand core cut on 23" form.
Next Experiment:
Re-jigger the numbers, add back in the 7" & 8" lengths. Cut half the white on 10" and half on 11" forms.
