I was hitting the books hard in my Equestria dreamscape. I would take my first weather exam in less than two weeks and Winter Wrap Up was less a week away. Although I had not received any certification for it Rainbow Dash said I could help take part in the Wrap Up as an assistant to her. I'd even get a chance to practice some real cloud bucking!
As a result I had my muzzle stuck in book almost every spare moment. Twilight even agreed to help me with little quizzes to test my knowledge of weather. Rainbow Dash appreciated that I was trying really hard to be a good weather pony; however all this studying and quizzing stuff bored her to death. She is much more from the hoofs on "Go out there and try it!" school of learning. Books are boring! Especially stuffy work relate books! Those dusty old books with stuffy titles that Twilight seems to gush about all the time.
Note. This dream occurred before RD got laid up in the hospital and became a Daring Do fan.

Even if she did learn to enjoy reading Daring Do novels, I don't think it's odd at all that she'd be bored out of her skull listening to someone else taking a test on stuff she already knows pat. I wouldn't be surprised if she could ace those tests if someone got her to sit down and do it - they've talked about having a schedule often enough, so someone has to know about the weather systems in that kind of detail well enough to do the planning.
How can clouds be boring? Meteorology is endlessly facinating. Tough I think being half farmboy may have influenced me on the matter. Perhaps AJ would be more sympathetic? She wouldn't care about all the fancy latin names, but she'd have an intuitive interest with what the pegasi decide to push over the farms this time an how it'll affect the apple harvest.
