This is a swing song titled "Zoot Suit Riot" by the Cherry Poppin Daddies
In this cover song version I transposed the song into the key I wanted and then sang in that key (in a different key than the original)
I hope you all enjoy!!!! :)

yes transposed a backtrack that was already recorded.
And sometimes able to get near perfect transposition if the keys compliment one another.
However you're right that the tempo and some little nuances can be lost when transposing something already recorded. This backtrack the guy spent some time picking the temp back up and bringing out certain areas that weren't as clear as in the original. This backtrack isnt 100% perfect but I felt we got pretty close :)

Huh. There is so much I don't know about the use of technology in music. By complementary keys, I assume you mean those that are adjacent on the circle of fifths (that is, those whose key signatures vary by only one accidental)?
I have to transpose nearly everything down for singing, and have always had to either record the accompaniment myself, or, in a couple of unfortunate cases, prepare a MIDI version. However, I usually transpose by a fourth or a fifth, so perhaps the procedure you used would be an option for me.

Always loved this band, still have their CD loaded in my car too actually.
Certainly did quite well, and definitely impressed.
The change in the key certainly threw me off, and the opening feels sluggish (I think just because the key change)
That being said, enjoyed your vocals. Awesome progress hun!

Overall tons of improvement. Very well done. at 1:59 though when your singing those Zoot suit riots your about a whole step off and as a result it sounds like it goes very flat. so try making sure your on pitch with those notes as they are an essential part of this piece. But again Lace, seriously man tons of improvement your tone and pitch is really maturing nicely!
thank you!
hmm, I played it back and put it up to the tuner and sang it and sounds in pitch to me and what the tuner says as well. Might be that just one note (the 1st note) in that run is off a little but the rest are correct which may give that feeling. Or cause the backtrack I used was transposed from a karaoke track so might sound a little off (not sure if you know what key im singing in on this song)
But ill keep that in mind and make note of that.
