*laughs* If we're lucky, they'll have a new hotel next year, and we'll never know what's behind that door.

Heh. Oh, it was a very nice hotels as far as hotels go, but not really the best choice for a furry con.

Some of the biggest complaints I know of were:
1) The elevators: I've been to AC and MFF, both of which are larger than FWA, and they had nothing like the 30+ minute waits.

2) The Con Suite: Putting this on the 66th floor was stupid, especially if you were below floor 45, where you had to catch one elevator to get up to 45 and then switch to another to get up to 66. I have one friend who took 45 minutes to get a can of soda and back to his room, and this was after midnight.

3) The main rooms spread out over 4 floors: This was particularly bothersome for a lot of fursuiters I heard from, especially with the headless lounge being so far away from where most of the events were taking place.

4) The parking garage: The self-parking lot for the hotel was tiny, obviously with the hotel wanting to force people to use the Valet parking, and the con was unable to make any kind of price deals with any of the nearby parking garages. Fortunately, the weather was nice, so walking to a less expensive parking garage wasn't too much of a hassle.


My current favorite hotel is for Mephit Furmeet, though it couldn't support a con the size of FWA (MFM has around 600 attendees).
I like MFF with the wide open space and large hallway near the main ballroom. Just a shame it's basically between 2 highways and doesn't have much in the area around the con.
