I've been tossing around the idea of resurrecting a 'fursona' for awhile. I've had one since I was probably 14, even before I knew what 'furry' was. She was a wolf, who went through various transformations until she fell somewhat out of use in the mid-00's.

It didn't feel right to continue using her, when the idea of making another toon for myself came up; I feel I've outgrown Jessie.

I spent a long time considering a new species. For some reason, caribou kept prodding my mind. I normally prefer 'predator' species, so I kept shoving it aside, especially when the first few doodles just didn't turn out. Caribou wouldn't go away, however, as I thought it really was 'me'. While I identify myself as a straight female, I have very masculine traits in my personality/preferences and don't hide them. Antlers are a symbol of masculinity and so caribou, whose females grow antlers, very much appealed to me. So the other day I doodled an idea once again and it actually turned out well.

So this is still in concept, still being ironed out. She's very much subject to change in design and coloring, but I'm pleased with the progress.
