Cosmic Elves were created when a malevolent Archmage sought to control the power put off by the Cosmic Void, a power too chaotic to be realistically controlled. Hiring several high-level thaumaturge High Elves, he did not make them fully aware of his intentions, but only told them research of the Void was the subject of the job.

When experiments went awry, all the elves died except four. These four were touched by the Void enough to warp their genetic structure, giving them intensely powerful supernatural abilities but also making them completely insane.

The Archmage, fascinated by the effects and unwilling to write off the costs of the experiment as a complete loss, invested in purchasing a great number of pleasure slaves with which to crossbreed the original Cosmic Elves. Over several generations, eventually the Cosmic Elf DNA was bred out enough that their powers, and their insanity, was decreased.

The Archmage did not expect the Cosmic Elves to escape his slave driving ways, however, they were able to escape his cruel treatment and hide in Extraplanar Space, where the vast majority of them live in fear to this day.

Existence is a Divergent, meaning of the four original Cosmic Elves, she is descended primarily from Divergence, and thus has the primary ability of portal making, as well as having both a Female and a Male self, in two separate bodies, though only one can dwell in a material plane at once, the other remaining in Extraplanar Space. Like many of her generation, she has tired of the insular life of the village and has decided to travel other, more material planes, but doing so has caused her to be shunned from the main village, never allowed to return.

Existence is self-confident, playful, and affectionate with others. Her pleasure slave heritage makes her quite friendly with those she likes, and causes certain needs to be more intense for her than for others. She still has a touch of insanity from her forebears, though, sometimes leading to a lack of conscience or taking pleasure in another's pain, but this tends not to be too extreme for her to live well in normal society.
