Been meaning to do this forever, My favorite Pokemon by Type, Was very hard, but I did it.
Bug - Scyther - Always liked him, who wouldn't want a freaken pokemon with freaken blades for arms.
Dark - Houndour - He's usually on my team as soon as I catch him and gets leveled alot. I usually name him Diablo and I don't let him evolve.
Dragon - Dragonite - I never ever really get one, but I love how he looks, so derpy and care free.
Electric - Electabuzz - Usually name him Buzz. I liked him ever sense that one episode when they went to the town split between the guys with Scythers and the side with Electabuzzs. Is he suppost to be a gorilla?
Fighting - Machoke - Well this was obvious. Machoke has so many fanboys I'm sure if pokemon were real there would be A LOT of Pokephelia charges because of him alone, me included.
Fire - Emboar - I hated the Unova starters when I started but I ended up falling in love with Emboar. His Heat Charge makes him my fastest and his Heat Crush is very powerful since he's fat. I like him so much he became Max's Started, Infernape was a close second who is Tech's Starter.
Fly - Honchkrow - Epic hat, that is almost all I have to say about the guy. Unlike most birds in the Pokemon world this guy has style.
Ghost - Duskull - I always found Duskull adorable. I usually name him Reefer after a friend (That's his real name) and he's another one I don't let evolve.
Plant - Simisage - You guys knew I had to have at least one monkey. I got into the habbit of calling the 3 elemental monkeys Plant Tech, Fire Tech, and Water Tech. It seems I couldn't draw him in pokemon style because mine popped out without me noticing.
Earth - Marowak - I loved Marowak and Cubone for a long time, I even wrote a fanfiction about them in elementary, even now when my characters go into the pokemon world Marowak has a bit of a story. I usually name them Diego, and becase of Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Totodile and his evolutions are their best friends.
Ice - Beartic - Though it's kinda bad I like a pokemon with frozen boogers on his face it's better than the others (Ice cream? Really?)
Normal - Snorlax - Forever the one in your way, loves falling asleep in inconvinient spots and refuses to move. I imagin they are soft so I always think it would be nice to sleep with one, unless it rolls over or uses sleep talk or Snore.
Poison - Haunter - Haunter is cool, end of discussion. I always liked him more than Gangar.
Psychic - Alakazam - one of the best pokemon in the early games, I don't really see him much anymore. He always seemed the closest to humans in the anime untill all the other pokemon that could talk and understand humans came around.
Rock - Terrakion - I like the art of him, he looks so goofy, or deadly serious, I also like his role as the protector of pokemon with the power to destroy Castles and his grudge against humans. I named him Max when I caught him after the big steel headed bull of mine.
Steel - Lucario - Only reason I liked him is because of the movie he was in with Sir Aaron. I named him Auran as a kind of play on that, though honestly Lucario lost his specialness after I found he's not legendary or really special at all and is found everywhere in Unova.
Water - Blastoise - And of course, the best for last, my man Blastoise, my very first pokemon ever. I never chose charmander over squirtle (I think there was a third choice but I forget) and he was always named Blaster. Neatually he's Wolf's starter in in the little fan fiction in my head he has a rivalry with Crank, Max's Emboar. Once I stop sucking at drawing pokemon I'll be drawing those two a lot.

Out of complete boredom here's mine
Bug - Galvantula - Easily the one Poke (Other than my dark type) that will always have a spot on my team in any game she's available in (I always end up finding female Joltiks first XD). Sure she may not be my favorite Pokemon ever, but she easily ranks in my top 10, if not my top 5.
Dark - Poochyena - Easily my favorite Pokemon out there. I don't know why, but I've always had a thing for Pokemon that could easily fit as house pets while still being able to wreak shit, and now that Mightyena has Moxie as his Dream World ability I can finally put this bad boy into my online team.
Dragon - Axew - Ok bit of back story. When me and a few friends were doing a group egglocke (A nuzlocke, but with eggs) Axew was the first first Pokemon I hatched, and together with my Charazard and Emboar the 3 wreaked shop taking down anyone that stood in our way. Now because of him whenever I play through any of the Gen 5 games I tend to trade in an Axew egg so I can get the bad boy early.
Electric - The Mareep line - Like with the fire type I couldn't pick which one of these 3 I liked the most, so instead I just put the whole line on here. Now unlike most I never used Mareep until I was doing a Nuzlocke of Soul Silver and ended up getting one and OH MY GOD WHY DIDN'T I USE ONE SOONER!! SO USEFUL!! Honest to god if it wasn't for that freaking Mareep I would not have gotten my perfect run, but thankfully I got lucky and found him and because of him no one died in that run :D
Fighting - Machoke - Obvious FA pick is Obvious
Fire - Embour, Typholsion and Charazard - Why is it that I always end up loving the fire starters more than the others (Well other than Sinnoh, but I'll save my rage for another time) anyway to save you some rambling, Embour wreaks shit up in Unova (I mean he's strong aginst half of the gyms HOT DAMN!) Typholsion is just awesome in every single way, and Charazard holds a very special place in my heart as my first Pokemon EVER who sadly gets screwed over because of Gym placement in Gen 1 and Stealth Rock in competitive play even though in almost every other gen he would of DESTROYED during the main game (Aka why I occasionally trade an egg into my game so I can get one like with Axew) all 3 are awesome Pokemon and all deserve to be my mains in each of their respective gens.
Fly - Honchkrow (Braviary being a close runner up) - Oh my god THANK YOU GAME FREAK FOR MAKING MURKROW USABLE!! I mean that enough is enough to put Honchkrow here simply because I always LOVED Murkrow's design and always wanted to use him, but couldn't because of piss poor stats, but now thanks to Honchkrow that's no longer the case. That and his preference in my previously mentioned Soul Silver nuzlocke doesn't hurt either.
Ghost - Ducknoir - Honestly it wasn't hard picking my favorite Ghost type because most of them are pretty bland and unappealing to me with really only Misdreavus coming close to my Ghost pick. Sad part is I've never even used a Ghost type on my team, I only picked which one looked better to me.
Grass - Bayleef - While she may not be the strongest, if you can build your team correctly around your Bayleef than oh boy do you have yourself one of the best teams you'll ever have. Also her appearance in the Anime doesn't hurt either.
Ground - Excadrill - Anyone who's used one of these in Unova knows why he's my Ground type of choice.
Ice - Spheal - Fucking adorable nuf said.
Normal - Eevee - Eevee will always have a spot in my heart as the first Pokemon to ever claim to be my favorite Pokemon, and how could it not. It's not only adorable, but can also evolve into 7 amazing Pokemon with an 8th on the way and as such it can easily find a slot in anyone's team because it can fill almost any role that none of your other Pokemon have yet to. Over all Eevee is an amazing Pokemon, but you already knew that.
Poison - Nidoking - One of my favorite Gen one pokemon period. He is such a good poke with so many diffrent directions and movs sets to go with it's unreal. Do you want him to be a staler and wait out a hard battle, do you want him to be a tank to take hits while you heal up your other pokes, do you want him to be an all out attacker who wreaks shit up, or do you want a mixed set that's good in everything, but master of nothing. With his large move pool and balanced stats the possibilities are as endless as your imagination will allow it.
Psychic - Lugia - The ONLY Legendary I've ever used in my main game team, Lugia is a great Flying Psychic type. While it may have a good number of weaknesses (5 to be exact) Lugia's move set guarantees that you should have most of your bases, with those that you couldn't thankfully being taken care of by the rest of your team.
Rock - Carracosta - While I was tempted to put him in the water section (Because that's typically the reason I use him) I couldn't find a rock type I used mostly because I don't really know the in's and out's of the type, something that you need to if you're going to use one without it dying over and over again. Anyway on to Carracosta, this thing is a monster when put into action plain and simple. You can use him to set up for your other Pokemon, or to take out a Pokemon that's giving your team a hard time, either way I can say for sure that if you put one on your team he won't disappointed.
Steel - Aggron - Just after I complained about rock types we have a duel steel rock type on my list, ironic much? Either way Aggron really dose deserve this spot. Taking away most of the over poweredness of Steel types while also removing many of the major weaknesses to Rock Aggron is a strong, yet balanced choice for any Hoenn team. Adding in the strengths of Rock and Steel together while getting rid of many of the reasons using a rock type is a bit of a chore Aggron almost always has a slot on my team.
Water - Feraligatr - Why are the Jhoto starters so freaking awesome? I mean god those games are the only ones I have a hard time picking which starter to go with. With Gen 1 I alternate between Charazard and Blastoise, with Gen 3 I go Mudkip all the time, with Gen 4 Turtwig, Gen 5 Tepig, Gen 2? GOD DAMMIT I JUST CAN'T CHOOSE D:
Anyway Feraligatr, I just love him and his whole line, being a very bulky physical water type, which is great because he easily trumps Gyarados in usefulness (A 4xs weakness to Electric is never a good thing people!) and rounds out the perfect triangle of power that is the Jhoto starters. While he may not be as good in competitive play as Blastoise, when it comes to in game Feraligatr is my favorite water type.

Dark - Houndour (I don't evolve mines as well, he's just great as he is xD )
Dragon - Zekrom (I loved him from my White 1 cuz he's my favorite color xD )
Electric - Luxray (I just loves the colors of Black,blue, and Yellow on him, plus he's great c: )
Fighting - Machoke (Buffy and muscular, I love him x3 )
Fire - Growlithe (Makes a good Puppy~ C: )
Flying - Farfeth'd (He and his leak are a good combination ;D )
Ghost - Gengar (he's a stalker ;D )
Grass - Simisage (Awesome everywhere x3 )
Ground - Excadrill (Can drill and i love drills @w@ )
Ice - Beartic (He looks so fluffy :3 )
Normal - Ursaring (I love dis Burr, he got that serious look xD )
