Here is the second generation turbine car made by lotus, powered by Pratt & Whitney, and fielded by Team owner Parnelli Jones. On display now at the IMS Hall of Fame Museum as part of the 50th anniversary of Parnelli's 1963 win.

The only thing I never liked about Indianapolis racers (at least then, I don't know if the do it today) , is that they experimented in assymetrical suspensions. The wheels on one side of the body were closer than the other side. This made perfect sense for racing at Indianapolis, but pretty much barred the car from competing at any track that had other than left-hand curves. The next step might as well have been to carve slots in the track and mount pins in the front of the cars.
