I love getting commissions, but there are a lot of times I have to bring my Critique Mallet with me cause even with pic refs and written refs, they don't seem to get it.
Poor Kuro, she's afraid of me for critiquing her work if I commissioned her. She does such cute work, I'll get her to warm up, I can see she's the type to get it right and still make it cute. <3

I see nothing wrong in pointing out mistakes when it comes to commissions. You can pay a lot of money for a picture, sometimes in the hundreds of dollars/pounds/euros so it makes sense to point out things that haven't been done right. You wouldn't get a house built for you and in the early stages discovered they've put a bathtub in the middle of the front room and no point it out.
I smell your problem there thougth i hope people get not much into corrections. I think artist often get umcomfy if there alot of 'buts' also it limtiates ana rtist freedome, then again they also should get you sort of to where you send a description to
