The Sheikah influence in his outfit was not planned, it came to me when I thought “Sheik would be more likely to sit in a tree like this”

My brain then started to buzz with ideas on how Link would have been raised in a mixed heritage

And then I was like “man this is fanfic material” but writing one from scratch takes so much time.
And then I was like “maybe I can fit this into my current fanfic and have this be Chirin... but the scars and setting, it seems to hint at something dismal”

And then it hit me: alternate ending to my Winged Ones fanfic, or rather an alternate second half

So here we have a grown Chirin, living on the edge of the world, his clothing show his mixed Hylian and Sheikan upbringing… a feather from his father tucked behind his ear and his father’s Ocarina now entrusted to him… contemplating his existence, and if he can ever regain the lost kingdom of Hyrule from the Fire Demon and the one born of Black Feathered Wings without his father's help.

The above idea resulted in basically handing my long asleep writing muse a fecking cup of coffee waking her up, resulting in my spending my 2 hours of "me time" I set aside after work and before bed into writing time for the last few weeks.
This alternate second half starts off tragic and the story is way different than the existing version.
