A basic design for the alligators that I will be using in my drawing and possible stories. Still need to go and fine-tune a few things such as the tale scales, they’re a bit too wide I think as well as tweaking the legs a little. Once of the things I’ve been practicing on the rough hide around the top of the neck and along the back, and that came out better than I though it would.

No, you don't sound naive at all.
As far as female gator picts go, I've only done one so far but I hope to be doing more of them in the future. But since I go with a more realistic flavor I usually don't draw in the breasts, so it's been rather hard to come up with something that has a feminine look to it.
