Cool like ice, swift as the wind, and silent as a shadow. Renamon is a Digimon who needs no introduction.
Because of that, I wanted to change things up and attempt to redesign her. Powerful digitigrade legs give her the ability to leap great distances and easily reach her tamer, Rika, in case of emergency. And for those kinds of legs to work on a bipedal creature, the thigh muscles tend to get quite large because they are most often in some flexed position. Because of how large her legs had become, I felt that a svelte upper body would look odd attached to them. I felt that it was necessary to buff her up a bit.
Aside from anatomy differences, I also changed a few details. Instead of just having…sleeves? Fingerless gloves? I’m not sure what you would call them, but I added a little armor to them and gave the Yin-Yang symbol a larger place to rest upon. The last things I changed were those odd yellow spear heads that protruded from her shoulders. I always thought they were interesting, but I wasn’t quite sure what to make of them. So this version, I imagined them as being feathers. The area around them starts as fur, changes into feathers, and ends with large decorative plumage tipped with dark orange.
I certainly had fun with this design, but what do you think?

It is well thought out although the head could've remained the same. Also she should have long ears, assuming she adapted to usually warm enviroments.
Other than that, your redesign lost quite a bit of feminine-ism (?). I mean her torso could be a bit more narrow or longer.

Thank you for the critique!
It's true that her head could have remained the same, but I wanted to give her a bit of a different feel. With a more defined body, I felt that her head was too geometric by comparison. And for the ears...I know one of the cities of Japan is at the same latitude as Pittsburgh, which would give it a similar climate. And it doesn't get very hot here until summer.
Yeah...she did lose a lot of her feminine aspects. I think I'll give that a try next time I draw her. It never hurts to experiment with a design. And who knows, she might look better with a little less muscle and a little more curve.
