Oh my god I finished it! I pulled a few all-day needle felting sessions and an all-nighter, but I finished this just in time for the deadline!
Image says it all, but this is one huge needle felt sculpture! Counting the base it's somewhere around two feet! (I know this because it comes to my knees which are roughly one third my body length and I'm five feet tall soooo.... rounding around to two feet!) The sculpey teeth, nose and jaws all add a lot of weight but even just Deyna himself is almost a pound and a half heavy! Because of the river rocks the base is almost two pounds, so this sculpture is heavy for "just" being wool!
I'm super proud of this one. I really think I hit a milestone with my needle felting by accomplishing this.

Thank you very much! I definitely think felting over the foam base made the muscles look more... Ohhhh, muscley I guess XD He feels much firmer than the rest of my sculptures, and even my "non-artists" friends notice something different about his construction and how he looks heavier. I'm so glad that even in photographs he is impressive to viewers like you, and all the kind words I've gotten about him from you and others have really encouraged me to keep working hard :D
