Coloured version of the previous and some background:
Jarasdār az Raml-hụss
(publicly goes by Rasúl al-Ramláh, „Spyglass“, mockingly called „Sandylocks“)
golden jackal/Corsac fox hybrid (probably not possible, but hey... furries)
Sandy to pale golden fur with silvery highlights, darker line running down his back, pale grey (outer rim) to amber (inner rim) eyes, no remarkable scars or markings, slim, medium-sized
Forced to wander after the death of his mother Kalíla and the disappearance of his elder brother Bashír, who was the real caretaker of those two. Is not well-suited for the practical issues of everyday life, more of a dreamer or a distant-minded scholar, but he managed to survive through hunting and made a bearable living as a prospector and „wandering tinkerer“ of sorts. He is a good climber and is well adapted to arid environment. He also has a good sense of weather and of space layout and directions, although most people wouldn't tell the latter by his behaviour – wherever he is, he constantly appears to be lost or confused and often alternates between states of a motionless blind stare into the void and frenetic looking around, as if searching for something. His personality could be best described as curious, cool-headed (if a bit insane), easygoing and rather optimistic (though this might be just his blissful ignorance of possible dangers and problems), but also unfocused and scatterbrained. No one knows (including himself) what is really going on inside his head most of the time.
He is one of those „talented“ individuals who tend to avoid harm by sheer luck while doing insane and unexpected things. In close combat he's usually most effective while accidentally tripping over and falling on an unsuspecting charging foe, while screaming some incomprehensible battle-cry and brandishing his Rodent 4 survival knife. He's however a decent shot with rifles on medium range (originally armed with Marlin 336 XLR). While walking, he often unconsciously swipes his foot(paw)prints with his tail.
„Spyglass“ is well versed in optics, gemology and mineralogy and is obsessed with technologies involving lenses, prisms and crystals of any kind. As a result his attention is always drawn by anything that glitters and he tends to hoard various shiny things, including useless glass baubles (though he is not above discarding them, once his curiosity is satisfied). The contents of his backpack would make a decent crystal chandelier, but the distinct sound he makes turn any of his attempts to sneak around unnoticed futile (thus he is often more useful as decoy and distraction). Among this junk, one might find some useful things as well. He always carries a set of watchmaker tools and a swiss knife for his tinkering and his favourite spyglass (hence the nickname). On his journeys he also obtained several laser markers and -scopes of various kinds. He turned some of them into an attachable telescope for his rifle and an experimental laser cutting/welding tool.
Jarasdar was brought up a zoroastrian, but his knowledge and zeal are quite limited. He also has (another) odd habit of shading his eyes blue. When asked about it, he replies it's „a cultural thing“ with a wave of hand and a slight smile.
