Project three for Backgrounds, Props and Structures required an illustration of a busy city street. The actual street had to be based on one from real life, although we were allowed to make cosmetic changes as necessary. The only other requirement was that in addition to cars -- both driving and parked -- we had to include a boy scout helping an old lady across the street, a "Paris Hilton" style girl, and a group of fully-dressed business men. I went a little crazy with mine and decided to make it a bit more chaotic.
An interesting thing to note: this photo is of Broughton Street in Savannah, facing East. This means the parachuter in the background is basically jumping out of his plane directly over the Atlantic Ocean. Sucks to be him!
Finished in Col-Erase blue pencils. Total work time: about 7 hours.

Bwahahaha! I love how the little boyscout is like OMGWTF. xD Bye bye little old lady, have a nice busride. XD And YAY for the paint coming down towards the 'Paris Hilton' type. XD
But seriously, this is some really good work... REALLY good. *snuggles your blue pencils hoping tallent rubs off* xD

Thanks! And yup, it's one-point perspective. The professor didn't specify which type of perspective to use on the piece, and you can still do a ton of fun stuff with just one-point. I was thinking of adding more chaos and random characters after I get it back from grading.
LOL, if they called it that I think more people would sign up for it!
"Hi, my name is Jon, and I'm majoring in AWESOME."
But yeah, I've taken a lot of courses from SCAD, so I'm not sure which one you're thinking of specifically. Animal Anatomy for Creature Design, Conceptual Illustration, Hand-Lettering for Comics... etc. etc.
