A story I wrote as part of a collaboration with my friend Casey on DA.
He did a great job with the image!

“Celeste, are you quite alright?”
Charles Dale had been watching his assistant with marked interest. For the majority of the day, she’d acted much the same as usual. She’d answered the phone and taken messages with practiced ease and made sure to keep his schedule running in perfect time. Just the same, today, something seemed off about her.
“I… I’m fine Mr. Dale! Really! Have I done something wrong?”
“No, no, my dear! As always, you have been the perfect aide. I can’t imagine how I’d get along without you!”
Celeste was about the same age as her employer, both being in their late twenties. She was a pretty tan color and he a handsome brown. The two cats worked side by side and had developed a comfortable working relationship.
As she turned to go back to her work, Celeste winced and fell slightly before composing herself. Charles moved swiftly to catch her, though she was alright on her own.
“I say, is something wrong with your leg?”
“No!” she shouted. “I mean, no sir. I’m fine, really.”
“Celeste, you are naturally graceful beyond belief. You are not one to trip over your own two feet… I’m asking you as not just as your employer but as your friend. Are you sure you’re alright?”
She hesitated a moment and bit her lip. Tears started welling up in the corners of her eyes as she spoke. “My feet hurt! They’ve hurt all day and I’m so sorry I’ve let that get in the way of work! You must think I’m just awful!”
Charles was taken aback!
“Celeste, do you really think that I expect you to endure pain in the name of good business? Surely not!”
He gestured for her to join him on his office sofa. The room was furnished in dark wood with lavish leather cushions and tasteful soft lights on all but the working area. He often stayed late and obviously had taken great lengths to allow himself the room to be comfortable.
The desk was his place of business; the sofa was his place of rest. The idea that he would share it with her made her cheeks burn. Even so, she fallowed him obediently to the seat.
The tears were gone from her eyes now, replaced with a sense of wonder and curiosity over what was to fallow. Charles sat beside her and lifted her nearest boot onto his lap. He pressed gently and could feel her toes wiggling inside, fairly close to the tip.
“My dear! How have you managed to go the whole day with these on and not collapse in agony? Why your poor toes haven’t the room to move and, I dare say, if you were to flex your claws, they’d break right through!”
Celeste shrugged sheepishly but offered no reply. She offered no resistance, either, as he shucked off her heels and cradled her stockinged paws.
“Now, there, that’s better, isn’t it?”
She smiled but no words came. She’d entered willingly into quite a strange situation. Mr. Dale was her boss and it didn’t fit right for him to behave in such a way, but he was being a gentleman about in. Though he’d relieved her of her boots, he’d left her socks; in a way keeping her isolated from his touch.
Before she could speak, a soft purr rose in her throat. He was no longer merely holding her paws, but had, instead, begun to gently rub his thumbs into her soles. She sighed and leaned back contentedly in her seat.
“Didn’t you notice that they were too tight right when you put them on?”
“Mmmm? Oh, no. I just thought my socks were too thick…”
Charles pinched the fabric between her toes, trying to gauge the weight.
“Well, they seem quite comfy on their own… Celeste, I’ve always relied on you to keep things going properly around here and you have done so, up to a point. I’ve always overlooked your shortcomings…”
“Shortcomings,” she thought. “What could he mean; where have I failed?”
“While I have you at my advantage, I’d like to take a moment and repay you in due course. Firstly, consider this massage thanks for months of hard work. I hope you’ll be more careful when selecting footwear in the future, but there’s no helping it for now.”
“Yes, I will. Thank you, too... You’re always a pleasure to work with and you certainly know how to give a good foot rub!”
“Yes, quite… Well, as to my second point…”
“Yes?”
“Well… It’s come to my attention that you’ve been making personal calls on company time… As you know, in our line of work that would be a terminable offence…”
Celeste’s eyes got wide.
“So consider this fair warning to not let it happen again!”
Suddenly, Charles spread his fingers and danced them up and down her arches. She laughed and shook with glee, unable to contain herself. Her paws were completely relaxed and the unexpected change in sensation came as quite a shock!
“Haha… Stop! Alright, Hehe… I promise!”
“Good…”
He gradually stopped tickling and went back to gently splaying out her toes.
“You’re really quite cute when you laugh… I’ll keep that in mind.”
