Hephaestus, the mighty god of the forge. His palace, his blazing forge; his throne, the heated steel of his anvil; his accolades, the song of metal crying out beneath his hammer. Entire worlds dance and spin 'round their stars within his mind; worlds of infinite beauty and utter darkness, of pains and pleasures yet to be dreamt of by mortal men, and all his to shape and bring into being by his will alone.
This piece took quite a bit to finally work up the gumption to do, because honestly i didn't really have much of an idea of how to approach this project. I intend to make this into a series of portraits like this one (that CAN be shrunken down and used for badges, just sayin'), that will be of people i look up to, put on pedastals and so foth, and sort of.... LITERALLY put them on a pedastal. And so i present, Strype, in the role of Hephaestus! Enjoy!
Strype (C) to himself
Art (C) to myself, circa MMXIII, or 2013 for you AD folks

I have reason to believe that Hephaestus is also the pioneer into robotics.
In the Greek Myth, I remember he invented two servants one made of gold and silver to help him in his workshop.
Have you ever heard or seen a Colchis Bull? That 'mechanical bull' from the movie "Percy Jackson and the Sea of Monsters?" He built that too, originally for farming purposes like plowing.
In one version of Greek Myth claim that Hephaestus also created Talos the Bronze Giant.
But who knows what more mechanical marvels Hephaestus made.
I think you two have much in common.
Though your's further possibilities in robotics; machines with parts of flesh and with souls.
Hephaestus' robot are simply mindless ancient machines with simple tasks known as automatons.
