Fox McCloud: Cool customer. Snarky. Somewhat emotionally detached. Unappreciative of the notion that he's coasting off his father's fame when he graduated from the Cornerian Flight Academy with top marks and genuine talent. Probably the most talented pilot in the Lylat system.

Falco Lombardi: Hothead. Loose cannon. Not as technically skilled as Fox, but makes up for that in intuition and good old recklessness. Very cocky. Considered the Ace Pilot of Starfox.

Slippy Toad: Gearhead. Scored highest in the academy and could have done anything he wanted, but prefers to stick to mechanics and maintenance. Surprisingly strong. And violent. Nice enough guy. Dislikes being kidnapped.
