That's a little disappointing it's not a Spotted Hyena. For one, a Striped Hyena could be done with very little modification to a wolf base, where as with the Spotted Hyena's forehead and boxy face, it's pretty difficult to properly adjust a canine mask to look like a Spotted Hyena. Would have jumped on this if it had been a Spotted...

I'm making this for a specific commission for a full partial of a striped hyena character specifically :/ were it up to me I probably would have made a spotted hyena blank mold. I may perhaps in the future sometime unless someone was to commission me to do a custom sculpt as such :X I still have to make a new lion/tiger base that's not so small on the face as the previous one was! which will also be for a completed mask AND I have to do a snow leopard base for yet another partial costume X_X a lot of costumes needing all custom sculpts.

AMAZING YOU ARE DARLIN'. Though I do agree with Kgosi, it does look more like a spotted hyena skull. Striped hyena's do indeed have wolf-ish skulls, with a more slender face and longer snout and less of a forehead than spotteds. I didn't know you were making a striped or would have sent you different photos :O You shant destroy this sculpt though, it's perfect for a spotted!

Hmm, in those pictures they actually look very similar :O I dunno what to say anymore lol But yeah, the nose is a little smaller and rounder kinda. BAWLZACKS.

Oh yeah, I think the modifications to the brow area especially really sell it for me! Something about that plaintive hyena gaze, lol.

I've even since shaved a little off the muzzle area making it more flat on the sides than round Xb and shrunk the nose since I just noticed that striped hyena noses are smaller and spotteds have the larger noses -_-
