Tigress
Flaming, citrine orange fur blazes
Whilst golden, fearless eyes are gazing
Solid black stripes, a searing design
With fierceness and finesse she is feline
An Asian beauty, she rules the plains
Where hand or eye cannot disdain
Lingering, under tree, shade, and branch
Resting now, she awaits her chance
Watching her prey leap and graze
She stalks and spies foreseeing a chase
As she strikes her game is oblivious
Hungering for meat, as she is carnivorous
Scarlet blood stains the ground
Her joyous roar, a frightful sound
She calls her young to come and feast
Upon the dead and lifeless beast
While hungry cubs eat their fill
Their mother guards her pride, and kill
From mid-noon till dusk their prize they devour
The sun soon sets and late is the hour
To her den she retires, with cubs behind her
A king greets his queen, a nuzzle and purr
Heavy young eyes soon lay to rest
And he to his mate softly whispered “My Tigress”
Flaming, citrine orange fur blazes
Whilst golden, fearless eyes are gazing
Solid black stripes, a searing design
With fierceness and finesse she is feline
An Asian beauty, she rules the plains
Where hand or eye cannot disdain
Lingering, under tree, shade, and branch
Resting now, she awaits her chance
Watching her prey leap and graze
She stalks and spies foreseeing a chase
As she strikes her game is oblivious
Hungering for meat, as she is carnivorous
Scarlet blood stains the ground
Her joyous roar, a frightful sound
She calls her young to come and feast
Upon the dead and lifeless beast
While hungry cubs eat their fill
Their mother guards her pride, and kill
From mid-noon till dusk their prize they devour
The sun soon sets and late is the hour
To her den she retires, with cubs behind her
A king greets his queen, a nuzzle and purr
Heavy young eyes soon lay to rest
And he to his mate softly whispered “My Tigress”
