This is a polymer clay sculpture (super sculpey) that was painted with acrylics over a masking tape covered tin foil and wire frame. I really love the way the feathers turned out although the painting could have dun with more orange colours. The foot that props up the body turned out to be thicker then I would have liked. But overall I really like the look of motion in the piece and the spread out wings. The design is based on the dinosaur/bird archaeopteryx although artistic license has been used to modify it to a more raptor appearance then from its bird like attributes such as a more beak like snout.

Update: Unfortunately this creation has been partially broken and is now in good need of repair
