So it's Mark and Lilith. My boyfriend and my characters from the DnD game where we met.
Lilith is an amethyst halfdragon, she's in my gallery somewhere. Mark is a bard, he is the PENULTAMITE bard.
Lilith lost her husband to pirates years ago, very gruesome death that bent her against pirates even more than her navy job had previously done. Her son was lost shortly after, by disease that none of the priests or healers could cure.
She closed herself off, burying herself in her work. She longed for revenge against her husband's killer, and as always, she longed for more adventure.
Along comes Mark. He's part of the misfit party that almost destroyed her ship, directly disobeys her orders, and get away with everything. Mark is a mirror of her husband in personality. He make bard good, she tries to ignore good barding, fails.

So of course, like any good manga or any story really, there is some fancy thing they need to infiltrate, and she grants him a dance. Oh yes, she has fallen for him hard, like all the way from her airship hard.
