Crossovers. If there is one thing TheThirdMew never fails to make suggestions for, it's crossovers. In fact, outside of some raunchy ideas with Mewblade, I don't think he really has the capacity to suggest anything else. So, as it went a few years ago before Journey (this beautiful, and strangely short video game that I insist all who own a PS3 play) actually came out, the husband was showing shots of the trailer. His first remark, or most of it anyway revolved around how bizarrely similar they looked. Honestly, from a distance, minus the wings, I was miffed when I saw the "traveler". Close-up, I think generally they don't share much and then I relaxed a whole heck of a lot. Then again, the whole floating thing, only survivor of a master race, lacking much of a face, the red robes, the tendency to communicate oddly, and a silent mission that takes the traveler to the cold, snowy mountains, where my Mewthree, Vita Sanguinence in turn is trying to escape those and look for warm, sunny places. Many months upon months later, I figured I was bored and would try this concept.
Pure Photoshop this time around, since I lacked even a scanner to do my usual sketchy guidelines. I stuck to the warm, more orange/yellow palate for the traveler, where Vita received the bluer treatment in order to create equal color contrast. Neither are usually to these color ranges, but I didn't want to make them identical after all. Not a lot of detail, didn't feel like it, but also kind of hard given the artistic style of both and the whole lacking of faces, or hands or any remotely detailed body parts outside of the scarf markings and wings. Not quite sure what is going on in this picture, chose different angles to signify their starting altitudes, other than that, take this as you may.
