I love this! Your use of light and shadow is fantastic! The subtle way the light caresses the lower left of the apple, which addeds to the illusion of roundess of the shape is great. The only negative I have is the black line, which I assume is suppose to be a crack in the wood, appears very flat in space. And it is really distracting to me.
Other than that: I LOVE THIS PIECE.
I can't wait for more.
