As I recall, the VF-22 only got 3 produced since the originl prototype was considered a failier. Of the three one was for Diamond Force's commander (Black Model), the second was for the captain of Battle-7 (Blue Model) and the third for the mayor of City-7 (Red Model). Of course these version had the mind-link command systems removed.

I love Macross 7. Makes so many referances to ALL other series. I hope the rest of the new series is released soon :3

actually the VF-22 saw a limited production run as a special forces fighter, as they are far more numerous in the macross VFX series for playstation, and yes I'm soooo pumped for macross frontier
