Okay so there's like no size comparison here but this one's about two centimeters long to the end of the zygomatic arch where it connects back to the skull. There's a huge chunk missing out of the back of this skull (you can see more or less how much is missing by comparing it to this pic: http://www.skullsunlimited.com/user.....large_3318.jpg )

The coolest thing about this is, I found this bad boy in an owl pellet. That makes me happy. I found one of the lower mandibles first (the bottom one in the pics) and that was very obviously a mandible that belonged to a carnivore, so that got me excited. I didn't think I'd find a weasel skull though! I was wondering what it would be...

Basing on size, I'm guessing this was a Least Weasel? The size seems about right...

Anyways, yeah, more adventures into owl pellets. (this pellet had a neat bird's foot in it too, so it was bird's foot, feathers, and weasel skull, ahaha). I've got seven more pellets to go, but those look mostly like vole/rodent bones. We'll see!
