Unlike most of the art I did for E.T. this is the one that possibly resembles his own work for the comic most closely. I've adapted a very manga/anime style to my own, and used large blocks of black. While E.T. didn't use black like this, he did employ large areas of gradiated grey tones. His outdoor backgrounds were also every bit as spare as this. The various tanks and remotely controlled vehicles on the horizon are inspired by E.T.'s own. In foregound is a character from the book, Candy Tsai. After so much time, I'm afraid I don't have a clear idea who she was anymore, but I think she was the "cute" one with the little girlish personality. Or maybe the cute one with the bad temper. It's hard to keep them straight in manga.
E.T. did the colouring and I think did a pretty good if simple job of it. It appeared on the back of issue 21
There was one other bacover I did that appeared in Gremlin Trouble 27. I wasn't happy with either the art, or the colouring E.T. did for it. so chose not to upload it.

I remember finding a few random episodes of GT a year or so ago at the local comic and games store. They were in the "buy stuff and get old comics free" bin, and since I had just bought Settlers of Cataan, Cities and Knights, Seafarers, and the 5-6 player expansions for all 3, the owner basically let me take however many I wanted. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to find any more locally, probably because I live in Lubbock, which only has enough business for one comic shop.
