You can put them on the inside if you'd like, but I would keep them away from the defroster lines.
I'm surprised you have been having problems. Most people who do decals use an automotive grade vinyl that is typically rated for around 5 years of outdoor use. For example, I used* to have a giant winged trilobite on my back window that stood up to the wiper blade rubbing over it every time it rained.
OTOH, it looks like you live in FL, lots of sunshine is one of the things that will shorten the life of a vinyl decal. Does it happen right away, or after a period of time?
*I took it off so I could use my car for the product photos. Otherwise, it would still be on there.

Yeah, since I've moved here, my decals don't stand a chance. It took about 6 months before the last one I put on started peeling and cracking. Where I park my car, it's in direct sunlight/exposed to elements. I've got one that I put on the inside (it was reversed just for that purpose) about 10 or so years ago. It's still there and not in danger or fading/coming off.
