I would almost advise you to forget that... In my opinion, anyone can clean their art up and try to make it look perfect, however it's, as you call it, the "messy" look that I love, not for its imperfection, but that every visible rawness is a story to how the artist did it, and removes the concept of it being real and enters the realms of imagination more...
